Nym (aka Steve)) : -- Steve likes the idea of achievements as they can encourage a lot of folks : to try something new... if used properly by design studios. And, as I mentioned in another thread, Crackdown has some pretty cool achievements that actually encourage some basic exploration and tricking (that have nothing to do with completing the game).
