: You would be watching as a member of an audience and not as a participant. That's the entire point. Nobody makes films in first person except in videogames. The ability to watch the action from a third perspective makes the game an actual filmmaking tool. Think about Red vs Blue. Who is the guy holding the camera? They never use first person perspective there. In every scene, there's always at least one more player than there are characters: the guy who is acting the role of "the camera". In fact, I tend to think that by giving a wider field of view, some of the best campaign films could look a lot better. The sense of the MC going up against throngs of enemies and being surrounded and fighting his way out is far more dramatic when you can see more than 90 degrees.
