In Response To: Wouln't that be the death og tricking? (scarab) : Want to know what the view is like from the top of a beam tower? : Just fly up and see. No need for piles of nades or any other jiggery pokery. : Sounds like the kiss of death to me. I know Frankie's already posted at NeoGAF that "the thing" isn't video related. To play devil's advocate: saved films files aren't "video". As for the free cam killing tricks: yes, it would. It would kill a great part of the incentive for exploration, and probably lessen the thrill of discovery. There would still be some who'd want to get to hard-to-reach places, but with the freecam to show you what's there and the best way to go, it'd be less interesting. How about this: Let the camera be moved a fixed distance from the player, and then rotated on all three axes. It lets you change the angle of view in any way you like, as well as turn to get the Chief in the shot. A lot of freedom for those making screenshots and movies. But since you can't go with the camera anyplace you can't bring the player character, it would preserve the incentive for true exploration.
