In Response To: There's pie in that thar sky (Ducain) : I wrote up a little Halo 3 campaign wishlist. Give it a read, and add your : goodies to the list. : http://highimpacthalo.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22788 : JH you know, I think I'm gonna say it. I don't like H1. There. Theres the lack of stuff in it, weird reload times (the AR especially, the clip change and round chambering could be done way faster, and next to the shotgun reload, it takes the biscuit) etc, but there in for deadline reasons/ realism, so there fine. You talked about insta kills, which are crap, but being prodded by the warthog killed you as if it'd dropped on top of you from the sky, and I guess this is to do with physics (I dunno, barely care), thats more annoying. Some of the melees are just plain crap, the SR one is slow, weak, and hardly ever contacts in the heat of battle. H3 is gonna be more like H2 than H1. Open spaces, thats fine by me, and even the melees could be put in, maybe like a extra cool assassin smack, something different for when you hit em in the back, but most of it went for a reason.
As for no physics twiddling skulls, I get your angle, but it is for example impossible to fight the marines on sentinal wall without the sputnik skull, and thats kinda cool, and black eye isn't a physics twiddler anyway is it? as for campaign stats, I'd like that to be a live only function, Like you go on a site that downloads the stats from profile, but it doesn't come up at the end of the level, ala Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Quake 1 etc. Too samey, and takes away the drama. Water level? meaning one composed mainly of water, or one IN water, cos chief can't swim (god knows why) And as for Pie in the sky... CAKES BETTER Anything not mentioned is fine and probably bitchin by me :)
