In Response To: Re: details of the story=Cool. Execution in H2=Cra (mr_mcmurder) It's strange that you understand what a DEM is but are confident that Gravemind is one, when he is not. You gave a bit of history on a DEM but what it really is is the writer like you said writing himself into a corner, saying "fuck it" and coming up with some random shit that resolved everything in a both stupid and yet logical way. A good example is the movie Donnie Darko, many people think it was all a dream, and that everything occurred meant nothing really, that would be a DEM, even though DD wasn't a DEM. What we learn from Gravemind in Halo 2 is that the Flood does have some sort of leadership/central intelligence and that he's not exactly helpless. For the more observant it's apparent that Gravemind has managed to witness all that has happened at Delta Halo, he captures/saves the MC and Arbiter from what we assume he then uses 2401 PT's teleportation ability to send the MC and the Arbiter off to stop the index from being used because if that happens then everyone is fucked. Again, Gravemind is not at all a DEM, he's simply a character in the story that was introduced in Halo 2 that we know VERY little about but apparently he will hold large sway over the events coming up in Halo 3. Was Tartarus a DEM? Truth? Miranda? |
