In Response To: Who cares about Halo's story? Article (Conman17) : http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=152811 : This article, and some of the replies, honestly make me sick to my stomach.
You know, a few friends of mine stopped by yesterday with a 360 and Gears of War and Perfect Dark. Personally, after seeing and playing Gears of War, it's story line was not too polished and it was just what I've been hearing: a shoot-em-up. A mindless one too. Yeah, you can interact with the environment a lot too, but still. A story is what makes a game believable. So when the article's writer said he hasn't been playing much of Halo 2 anymore thanks to Gears of War, then that just about did it for me. Who cares what the writer thinks? He found what he wanted: a mindless unpolished game that takes a fraction of the will to play as compared to Halo 2. He found what he's most cut out for. So for him to write up an article about Halo 2 and ripping on its story is just about as baseless and unsupporting as it comes. Oh, and I will be getting a 360 soon, but not Gears of War. I got a much better rush playing Perfect Dark than playing Gears of War. |
