I am really having difficulty believing all the people who somehow think the Halogen guys *invented* the idea of making a Halo RTS. Invented the idea of making a RTS game out of a game that started as an RTS game. Invented the idea of making an RTS game based on a shooter made by a developer which, prior to releasing Halo 1, had two out of three of their previous games be not only RTS games, but award-winning ones. You know how : pissed off I would be? After working very hard on something, making the : best mod you can make for the community and MS shuts them down. Best mod for the C&C community. Not the Halo community. You couldn't play Halogen with Halo. You had to own C&C. I don't. Then again, if you owned C&C-- if you were an EA customer, but NOT a Bungie customer-- you could have played Halogen. What part of that is fair? I'm just : loosing respect for them. Losing respect for whom? For Bungie, who interceded on behalf of the Halogen team, wanted to see them get to release their mod, but was unsuccessful because it is not their call? For Bungie, who asked to speak to the Halogen team themselves instead of Microsoft's legal team, so they would not feel so bad about it? For Microsoft, who is protecting their investment and only stopping people from playing a Halo game for free while putting money into a competitor's product? For Ensemble, who is doing the official Halo RTS and doesn't have anything to do with Halogen whatsoever? I hope Halo Wars does fail, they don't deserve : the success. Even if it is a good game, I still won't have Microsoft under : my respect list and I'd rather take a mod from guys listening to the : community than something that was made to shut down some fans' greatest : project. You are ascribing far too much importance to Halogen if you honestly believe Microsoft decided to develop it just for the purpose of shutting down Halogen. The only group I'm losing respect for the more this pointless discussion goes on is the supposed Halogen fans.
