Re: Playing 'Shark' at AOTCR's first bridge

In Response To: Re: Playing 'Shark' at AOTCR's first bridge (anathema)

: "Hi ho!" This reminds me of a game I play in Two Betrayals just
: before reaching the second pulse generator. After picking up one of the
: Banshees and destroying all other opposition knock the Shades off the
: edges of the rocky outcrop by ramming them and freefall as the gunners
: plummet to their death.

I've previously rammed manned Shades off, but I can're recall spending much time on it. Sounds like you've made it more of an art form. Must give it another go...

: The best sadism part of AotMCR for me is the chamber you reach just after leaving
: the second canyon occupied by 2 Elites and 20 sleeping Grunts. Go in there
: with a fully charged plasma rifle, a rocket launcher and 4 plasma
: grenades. Blow away the Elites with the launcher and tag as many Grunts as
: possible. There are interesting new games you can play here such as the
: Mailman. Shoot one Grunt to get them to retreat then stick them with a
: plasma grenade as they run into their friends. "Send this message to
: your collegues..."

I love tagging Grunts or Jackals so they take a fizzing message back among their mates; I do a lot of that and call them 'Grunt bombs' or 'Jackal bombs'. Mostly I do it just for the sheer fun of it, but sometimes it can be really useful. For example, at the start of AOTCR, kill everyone except a single Grunt. He heads back to the room in panic. Tag him just as he's heading in, and he'll usually take the message straight into the face of the pacing Elite. Nice one Grunty! This sort of comical and vindictive fun is one of the great delights of Halo eh? It just wouldn't be the same without all the amusing enemy reactions.

By the way, there's some talk about that naughty tagging business on my Tactics and tips page. See 'Walking bombs'.
