In Response To: Re: My Thoughts on the Halo Series (ubersaurus) : You're just mad that he was more eloquent :P Actually, I certainly have the ability to (and have, in the past, on numerous occasions*) write that much and more on the subject. I was just bringing out to Elmo that he is wasting his time. I'm simply following my own advice and not putting so much effort into convincing people who act like they know what theyre talking about something that they don't WANT to believe, regardless of the truth of the matter. Its a waste of time, so therefore Im not going to do it. I argued this to death all thru 2005 with kids who "knew" they were right, and I got tired of it. This is the most I've even typed on the subject in quite some time. For the most part, I'm now perfectly content to just let noobs be noobs and think what they want. *Here's a quick copy/paste example of something I told someone who thought like you from a very old thread. Not that it's super articulate or anything but it's quite applicable in this discussion... What exactly constitues facts (i.e. which game is better/more skilled) when facts are subjective? I'd say the opinion of the most informed. Well, in Halo and Halo 2, the most informed happen to be the most skilled players, because, well, knowlege IS power in a game that requires jumping and map knowlege, strategy and split-second decision making. The people who spent the most time playing have this knowlege and skill. If you were a seasoned Halo 1 player, you picked up Halo 2 about 50x faster than a kid who got an xbox for Christmas last December. So honestly, the closest you're gonna get to facts about Halo 2 is the consensus of the most skilled players. And it just so happens to be that the most skilled Halo 2 players agree that Halo 1 is a much superior game for a NUMBER of reasons. Additionally, its still the game they play when they play for fun. If you wanted to hear an opinion about football and had to listen to either John Madden or a Freshman who just got cut from the high school team, who's would you chose? In that analogy, guess who you are.
