In Response To: Re: My Thoughts on the Halo Series (DoT_Gunslinger) : It is very easy to do, stay behind a hill and you're extremely hard for a
Seeing how we only had enough time to throw one Nade and hardly enough time to find cover before we died, I will have to say it wasn't possible to really fight back at all. Halo1's spawn system was far more easier to allow spawn killing than I have ever seen in Halo2. True spawn killing happens in Halo2, but it's more a result of random chance, than a planned tactic as it is for Halo1. : Strategy and teamwork were a large part of Halo 1 as well, but skill was
Skill was more heavily emphasized to cater to individual ability over team work. Not that you couldn't improve upon team work in Halo1 of course. All distance did for the pistol was hamper the ability to hit your target with any kind of consistancy. Once you get good enough to overcome that hampering, it becomes easier. : All of these mentioned are either complete weapon sets or power weapons. It
You are of course welcome to believe this, but I just can't. DW weapons kind of had to be less powerful, otherwise DW would be too powerful. PP and the BR overshadowed? I can't see that in any way shape or form considering they are often combined to be the most deadly combo in the game. Yes power weapons do overshadow other weapons, but that's not to say the other weapons can't be used to beat them. Sometimes it comes down to YOU more than it does to the weapon your holding. : Perhaps you simply respect the amount of work the OP obviously put into his
I deeply apoligize if it sounds like I'm insulting you. I'm just disagreeing with you, and pointing out that many of the things you've stated have been addressed numerous times by Bungie and others. I too wish I had that kind of verbosity. : I do not believe my analisys is off at all as it is impossible for the best
... Is the "best pistol user" standing still and only looking in one direction while he's being shot at? Because that's really the only way I can see your statement working. : Not if map designers give sufficient cover for the sniper to move swiftly and
As there is no area in Lockout you can't hit with the BR from one end of the map to the other (assuming of course your on the same floor) it would be the same thing between the Sniper and the Pistol. Ascension as well, trust me I've gotten more than my fair share of kills with a BR against a Sniper from the main tower to the Sniper Tower. In Beaver Creek the Sniper is easily defeated. Though Foundation doesn't have a sniper on it's own, a custom game with the sniper included would yield the same result as the BR. And yes I concede the point that at an extreme range of either close or far is really the only scenerios where the pistol can't dominate as easily as it can in any other situation. Which is kind of imbalanced if you ask me. For someone who claims to admit the Pistol is over powered you seem to be trying to show it as an underdog type weapon. : Host, sorry, dead horse, soo true. Also probly a charging swordsman,
You're right it was in only one instance. Normally because I'm able to dodge the Sword and follow up with a melee to kill them with any weapon I hold. But really duel needler's are one of the funnest combos I've ever done. |
