In Response To: My Thoughts on the Halo Series (Gravemind) Holy jeebus that was loooooooooooooong. First off, congrats on the sheer amount of thought and work you put into it. This response is specific to your notes, but it can be broadly applicable to all sorts of Halo 2 criticisms we receive and respond to. There are a few things in your notes that I personally agree with, and excitingly for you, there are a few things in there that are already planned for Halo 3. However, there are lots of things in there - and here's the broad brush - that we tried, and they sucked. For example, and this is the only example I will give you ebcause these arguments get circular: The pistol, as it operates in Halo 1, is so powerful that online gaming would simply become online pistols. Effectively every game type would become SWAT. Which is fun, but lacks variety, no? And we know this, because we've tested it. We've tested almost every single iteration of every (multiplayer) comparison you made - and they weren't fun, or they didn't work online, or they broke something else. Hopefully you will love how Halo 3 balances out. But if you don't - remember next time to write your open letter to Bungie about a year earlier - because your comments are waaaaaay too late... ;-)
