In Response To: Halo Director Announced (Cornballer) While I very much like this fellows work...particularly Tetra Vaal I wonder about his background and lack of experience. Short films, commercials and music video are vastly different forms from feature length films and those who work exclusively in the former typically don't handle the latter very well, especially when a big budget is attached. A couple cases in point. One is Micheal Bay whose every shot looks like a beer ad. Why? Because that's where he stared...making beer ads. Nothing in his movies remotely resembles a story arc or character development. Another is David Fincher who started making Madonna videos and went on to make Alien 3. Nuff said. Certainly from what I have seen cinematography, coreography, editing are things this guy can handle but telling a compelling story over the course of two hours is something he has never done. Maybe it will turn out great...interesting choice either way. He seems like natural for the Transformers movie. I wonder why he wasn't...oh yeah, Micheal Bay is destroying that franchise. | |
