In Response To: Hunters don't make much sense. (Boris) : If hunters are just colonies of worms, than why can they: 1) Grunt when they
Wendt's theory explains this one: If different worms have different functions, there may be a set that takes in oxygen (or whatever they breathe). Perhaps it expels air when they make a sudden movement, just like our lungs tend to. : 2) Have individual thought (Halo: The Flood) Think of the Borg from Start Trek. Each individual body is not an individual, but the collective consciousness of the worms is intelligent. It's not that different from the way our cells are collectively conscious. : 3) Die and not just split of and keep going (Ogada gets his head blown off
Again, I would say Wendt's theory explains this one. With all that said, I will admit that even though we can attempt to explain their characteristics, they are by far the most mysterious of all Halo's characters, probably even more than the Forerunner. We know pretty much squat about them, really. |
