I think that Agent Smith's speech is interesting. But, as we were discussing in course I'm taking, what humans do by spreading out, multiplying, and taking every resource we can is no different than what any other species on the planet does. The difference is that we have been able to develop technology that allows us to do it on a much larger scale. If any other creature on Earth, however, were able to limit their infant mortality rate, use all the resources that we do, etc etc they more than likely would. It is in the nature of all species to do these things, we just happen to be able to do it better, or worse, depending on how you want to look at it...
