Didn't the IGN interview (I think IGN) say that the Bungie folks flew a banshee around the structure for them? If that was the case, why would Bungie miniaturize it? And why would Bungie, knowing the amount of speculation sites like HBO do, tell us that the ring is about 3 miles long, if it is meant to be 30 miles long? The structure in the trailer seems to have 12 arms, not 6 or 7. I like the idea of a world within a world and of earth built around halo, but I'm not sure Halo's outer "rings" are our structure.
