Religious? If Halo is really based on Gnostic principles, it isn't merely religious, it's heretical.

Of course, we won't have Frankie or Joe Staten come and say, "Yes, we read about Gnostic christianity." or "We like the Da Vinci code and its unauthorized guides."(As a matter of fact, Halo was released long before the Da Vinci code was created, so Bungie can't have taken advantage of any of those unathorized guides)
