In Response To: Re: What Shiska Said (Cocopjojo) : I'm completely with Bungie. I just want to know what they're working on. And
: Hm. This is getting to be just as intriguing to me as the actual project
As one who also does a lot of creative work for dedicated fans (though my fanbase is vastly smaller, limited to a few dozen fanfic readers :P) I know a perfectly fine and valid reason why Bungie would delay on telling anyone anything, and its the exact same reason why Lucas told no one anything regarding Vader was Luke's father in Empire Strikes Back: they want to see the "HOLY SHIT!" response. When you're a creative designer and you have people who are dedicated fans, you want to wow them. You want to whip out something so awesome that you will leave your fans gobsmacked. When you have that creative development, that new work of art or new story, or that insane plot twist, you don't give your fans any warning. You sit back, you let the tension build, and you even maybe let them get a little bored and aggravated with waiting for you to make your big move, and then, wham. From personal experience, there are few things more satisfying for both creator and fan than slamming your fanbase with something totally freakin' badass and watching the reaction. Bungie delays because they have something big. And they don't want to spoil the surprise for us. |
