In Response To: Re: I didn't bother reading the Weekly Update (Shishka) : But when did it start making sense that if someone doesn't do exactly what
That doesn't really make sense, and that isn't what I want to say. Perhaps it came across a bit harsh, but my sentiment is this: I've been a long time Bungie fan, and part of that is the connection with the community. I do enjoy things like the documentary on the Halo 2 special edition disc, the marathon scrapbook, and write ups about things like the pentathalon. These things, as well as whatever game Bungie is working on will always intrest me. I am not demanding information on the next title, and am not upset at Bungie's silence. The feeling of arrogance I spoke of isn't exactly overt. Most of the information I gather about Bungie used to come from fan sites, like the marathon story page. Fans, interested enough to compile texts, interviews etc, would interact with you and relay that information. In a sense, this was really personal, and I think a great way to interact with the fans. What other game company would tease the fans with something like the Cortana letters? Awesome. Now however, I don't get that sense of connection anymore. Don't get me wrong, you do a lot of awesome stuff, like the feature on the Eilite fan costume, and the discussion of the new user interface. This is great stuff. For the most part, I DO enjoy reading the weekly updates. However, sometimes it just seems "arrogant". I simply feel lately like Bungie has been telling me why Bungie is awesome. This is what I meant. |
