: Why didn't the Covies just shoot the MACs? Hm.. don't know. Well, if they did shoot the station where Mr. 117 was on, then he'd die and everyone else would too. Since it WAS Halo 2, it seemed better if you were to repel Covenant forces. And The Covenant had bombs with them, so the boarding parties would destroy the MAC guns.
