In Response To: Re: Arbiter's got a mean spike.... (frankie) : La, la, la. Heheh. The Arbiter is a fine pick indeed. However, there's a bit of a problem in choosing him. This problem is the same with the MC or any other Elite. They're a bit tall. In Oni, size differences between characters can lead to difficulty in controlling them. Getting a tall character to grab or punch a smaller character can be troublesome, but I'm sure Team Ninja will think of ways to make the character fit gameplay-wise. They're very good at making the fighting smooth no matter what the technical issues are. I wonder, is this "Halo Character" going to have his/her own "story" mode? Or will this character be like Ein (In DOA3)... "no real voiceover/available for versus style only." Also, one last thing. If the Arbiter's in DOA4, the Chief has to be there as well. I mean, seeing their fighting styles juxtaposed would be rather cool. The Arbiter would be slow (not too slow though. Think Bayman.) and graceful, with each hit having a high degree of power. The Master Chief would zip about like Ayane, his machine-augmented strength striking repeatedly and relentlessly, chipping away from his opponent's health bit by agonizing bit. Here are a couple special moves I've thought of for the Chief: "Assassin's Deathgrip" where he picks up an opponent with one hand and punches them three times in the face with the other, and "The Fall of Reach", where he does a Piledriver grab attack. And a couple more I can think of for the Arbiter: "Arbiter's Rebuke", where he grabs an opponent's shoulders and headbutts them, and "High Charity", where he grabs their legs, swings them around, and throws them quite a distance. Neat suggestions, eh? Heh, I guess I'm just the demanding sort. I get excited, and I think of all these hard-to-fulfill concepts, like the Master Chief with a jetpack like the kind seen in Tribes, or Mark VII armor, or other Spartans commandable with the D-Pad in squad-based action, or... see? I'm doing it again! I'm just full of ideas! If I worked in a game dev studio, I'd be the concepts/ideas guy. Basically, I'd be that lazy asshole that says: "How about we give the main character a series of modular upgrades with their own "Installation/Uninstallation" animations, each having its own visible effect on gameplay? How about customizable guns, like a battle rifle with a case of mods you can carry around in the place of your secondary weapon, or a magnum you can mod into an M6D? How about a guy who offers the main character a choice of eight custom vehicles with awesome modifications like a black twin-barreled Scorpion tank with two coaxially-mounted 12.7mm miniguns and a hover-module cannibalized from a Wraith tank and automatically-fired anti-air missiles that track the turrets of Phantom Dropships? Or a Combat Motorcycle with a Spectre's cannon mounted on the nose?" To which all the artists and programmers groan "F**K NO!" Heehee! :D -*THASF*
