I agree. Nylund's depiction of the chief is a good bit better than Dietz's. Nylund's version is a cold killer with no remorse and a bit of hardened bitterness from the decades-long war. He doesn't care about making his foes suffer. He only cares about doing his job. The Dietz MC is a bit more, Human. He's interested in retribution and punitive damage. He's a hotheaded, shallow representation of the Chief, more like a marine than a Spartan. All in all, it comes down to this: The Nylund MC wants to win the war by doing his very best, The Dietz MC wants the Covenant to bathe in their own blood. But then again, I'd bet even a Spartan would call someone a "hard-core son of a bitch" if they made it a little over halfway through the library on Legendary without Mjolnir armor! :D | |
