In Response To: Is Miranda Dr. Halsey's Daughter? (Dark One) A very well put together theory. Great job. I started out not quite believing (or wanting to believe) that Miranda is Halsey's daughter. Dr. Halsey just never seemed to be the kind of person one would expect to have a normal (nothing normal about the Keyes-Halsey r/n though) guy-girl relationship. Her priorities seemed to be centered on her work, the Spartans, and defeating the Covenant. But as I finished it, and reread it, I'm kinda leaning to your side, that Miranda is Halsey's daughter. In some ways it would make perfect sense. Especially their similar looks. Both have dark hair and blue eyes. If I'm not worng Keyes has lighter colored hair, thus Miranda's dark hair has to have come from her mother. If it is true, that Miranda is the daughter of Captain Jacob Keyes and Dr. Catherine Halsey, it would mean she's probably inherited a very great mind from both her parents. Could also be the reason why she rose to Commander in such a short period of time... As for her upbringing, I'm more inclined to her being taken care of by some other relatives or foster parents. I think she probably knew of her Captain dad, but I don't think Keyes would have told her about her mom. I don't think Halsey spent much time (if any at all) with Miranda even when she was young. Knowing her "Sacrifice one for the good of many" philiosophy, Halsey probably spent more time on her Spartans and other more pressing priorities than on her daughter. Plus, the more people knew about her secret child, the more likely the secret will get out. I've a feeling not even her foster parents or guardians knew who the mother was. Just my two cents. ;) All in all, great work. |
