She had commented several times how : familiar its programming looked. I think it's a Cortana duplicate that the : Covenant Engineers altered for Covenant use. We already know there's time : travel in the Halo universe, so it's at least a possibility. There's no time travel in Halo. Jumping into the future wouldn't sufficiently explain the log errors or how they end up arriving in the past. I'd say it's more a matter of their personal time being faster. While in slipspace time is heavily distorted. More likely the Forerunner crystal simply warped their time in Slipspace. Most likely that was because of the fact the POA was entering Slipspace with the majority of the Covenant fleet trailing them. This distortion in their slipspace rupture may have greatly increased their travel time. I'd say the crystal caused their travel time to increase substantially. More likely the Covenant just retrieved the remnants of Kalmiya. Forerunner are not known to have any computerized AI, so being a humany copy is more likely.
