In Response To: It's a matter of convenience (FoolsRun)
: Depending on how fast the emulator can run, games with occasional framerate
: problems (such as Doom 3 or certain parts of the original Halo CE) could
: be reduced or eliminated. In that sense, the gameplay experience could be
: improved slightly.
: However, backwards-compatibility is mainly an issue of convenience. I've
: already maxed out my input connections on my TV and receiver, so if I add
: another console to the mix, I either have to unplug cables when I switch
: between the Xbox and X360, or purchase an AV switchbox. Plus, I'd have to
: find room for the extra console, and I barely have room for everything as
: is. If the X360 is backwards compatible (and I decide to buy one), I can
: just replace my existing console without worrying about adding another yet
: component to my tower of electronics.
I honestly don't know the answer guys, but remember that the 360 emulates an Xbox, and the safest way to emulate without introducing new bugs, is to emulate EXACTLY.
