Why would the two sides be thrown free? gravity is olding them in place (actually, a balance between the opposing gravities of Threshhold and Basis). Of course, since we only have a few seconds of cutscene to go by and no real idea of how much time has passed since the destruction of 05, we have no idea how how (un)stable the orbit may be, nor how many other eccentricities there may be in the motion of the wreckage. My guess, is at worst it was an oversight on Bungie's part and they just wanted to make the setting of the cutscene look nice. I mean, would anyone have even known that the planet in the background was Threshhold if all of the wreckage had been dispersed? Sometimes eye candy is just eye candy. (^_^)v |
