In Response To: Hey MotherGoat, could you please explain... (Dj Suppai Saru) : How would you personally explain why Sniping in Halo (1 & 2) feels so
Good answers to this, but I'd have to point DIRECTLY to the analog control sensitivity. The Halo series has absolutely nailed analog control. You never fight it. When you press lightly, it goes as slow as you think, allowing for more precise aiming. Most console games have what's called "analog acceleration" where your turning speed changes if you hold the stick long enough. Although Halo has it VERY VERY slightly, it's not noticable. The idea behind analog acceleration is to GUES Swhen the player wants to whip around faster. It's a stupid, stupid feature. But Halo hardly uses it. Where you aim is 99% directly porportionate to how you move the sticks. It sounds simple and silly that more games don't have as tight of controls...but it's true. Halo's analog controls are absolutely unmatched. Plus, the two-zoom feature is quick and efficient. |
