Well, THAT was sorta inevitable. Adding Banshees sorta guarenteed some drawback - either you make an invisible barrier for them, or make it ultra-easy to get on top of the level. One of the things that I thought made Halo great was the fact that, being on a console, it was ONLY possible to edit or hack it if you had a modded Xbox or Action Replay. It really adds to the... impressiveness of a lot of tricks. The first time I saw some guys blast a Warthog on top of one of the Blue Beam towers, I was utterly amazed. But if there was a cheat to make grenades 10x more powerful or something, that'd be a lot less interesting. On a side note, what are your thoughts on fall damage? Personally I lean slightly towards it being good... on the one hand, I like the freedom (at least in Multiplayer) of leaping off huge buildings with my guns blazing, but the amount of invisible kill-zones in the H2 compaign was too large a price. | |
