In Response To: Re: The importance of organic reclaimers (Slith)

: But there is no evidence yet that Flood can assimilate AI's, or Constructs.
: We never see a corrupt program or construct anywhere on Halo.

The end cutscene with Gravemind and Cortana, what exactly is going to happen next? Shudders to think... ;)

: 2401 Penitent Tangent cannot be used to explain anything, as a construct the
: Flood cannot infect Tangent biologically. However, many have come to the
: assumption that because it is within the grasp of Gravemind, Penitent
: Tangent's programming is corrupt. Yet absolutely nothing points to such
: evidence.

If I were to design the monitor of Halo, an installation designed to study and contain the Flood, I suppose I might do my best to make the monitor as resistant as possible to the Flood. However that could be done. Anyway, it is clear that 343 Guilty Spark spends a lot of time dealing with the Flood damaging plasma conduits and gravitonic stabilizers, or whatchamacallits (even though we really know he most of the time is really just taking a coffee break at the bottom of the elevator...lol). And 343 Guilty Spark is quite self-contained so he must personally go to where there is a problem and interface with the systems rather than be able to remotely make the fixes.

The evidence may not be there, but there is something just wrong with the lack of anything other than sentinels and monitors existing. Why not have a super computer running things or at least a mainframe with a "personality" when you interface with it.

: If anything, the fact that 343 Guilty Spark takes the index away from John
: 117 on Halo Alpha (04) citing the reason 'You are susceptible to
: infection.', clearly demonstrates that a Forerunner construct is a safer
: carrier.

Safer carrier but still is not allowed to do the task of re-unifying the Index to the Core, that is reserved for the Reclaimer.

Good points, anyhow. Keep up the posting.
