To answer some frequently asked questions:
Q. What did you use to make the video?
A. We captured with a seven year old pile of crap G3 running OS 9 that de-interlaces everything that goes through it due to its low resolution as a last resort because our DV camera is fried. I edited with Final Cut Pro on a G4. Mediocre consumer editing tools such as Windows Movie Maker don't have the pubic hair rendering power of Final Cut Pro. Also, they make me vomit.
If you're looking for a good capture card specifically for making movies, (not that the world needs any more Halo movies,) either get one that supports 480p or just bridge through a DV camera via analog video-in.
Q. What did you use to make the song?
A. Reason 3 and Logic. Recorded and mixed entirely from scratch. We're working on an album and we don't screw around with consumer crap.
Q. How did you get rid of the HUD?
A. We felt that the video would be best at 4:3 aspect ratio, so in order to get rid of the HUD, we shot zoomed in with the scope and used a mask that I tuned to compensate for the surrounding darkness. It doesn't work perfectly, but for our purposes it was worth the effort. Don't bother trying to do it unless you like to give up.
Q. How can I do this?
A. Make sure your clan is made up of at least one of each:
Professional Web Designer, Video Editor/Motion Graphics Artist, and Musician/Audio Engineer.
Professional Photographer.
Then make sure they have a lot of free time.
Q. Can you guys actually play?
A. We're alright. Most importantly, we're not stupid douche-bags. Besides, wouldn't it be humorous commentary on mainstream rap to pretend to be far more gangster than we actually are?
Q. Can I join your clan?
A. Not unless you live in Seattle or pretty close by. You can probably play with us either way as long as you're not an idiot. We like to go into Big Team Battle with 8 player parties and kill things.
