I doubt a squad would be patrolling IAC but I wouldn't put the idea down either. The easier and more popular method for manning stations is a 12 hour shift, saves time and personnel. I'm nto Navy so I can't say how they would run it but generally you have 3 shifts, 1 shift on, 2 shifts off. This allows for plenty of personnel to do the dirt jobs that have to be done and also allows plenty of time for recreation and rest.
It is good to be geared to small unit tactics as it has been proven in the past to be quite effective, though having a company on board a ship that size would mean that the Marines would be tied up doing security all over the ship and no training. Marines provide the security on Naval installations including ships.
