Re: To recoil, or not to recoil..

In Response To: To recoil, or not to recoil.. (Fernando.)

: First of all you do have a valid point, the humans have inter-stellar ships
: and presumably all the other technical gubbins that go with such tech.
: However it is clearly visible that the vast majority of the human weapons
: in game are bullet/solid projectile based and so would naturaly recoil
: just like any other weapon of this day. Why they use these weapons is
: another question altogether, presumably from Bungies point as most games
: use real life weapons, which the users will be used to (hopefully not
: *too* used to) in game. Who knows, mabey the humans decided to put all
: their efforts of humanity into building starships and decided war was a
: pointless waste of time, resources and life politicians please take note
: this is a good thing. Uh back more to the point we don't actualy know if
: there is any recoil in the game the weapons could have some kind of anti
: recoil system a la Deus Ex. There is also the point that there is this
: thing used for playing games called "skill" this is what makes
: games fun recoil, a representation of a real life physical reaction is
: just as important in making a game feel more realistic as photo realistic
: imagery or 24bit surround sound. Look at Q3A for example, a small number
: of people use bots to make one shot instant kills on other players does
: this show they have skill? and more importantly do they think they have
: fun playing the game, or take long to get through it?
: Before I get told of for making huge posts there is one final point, about
: the assault rifle/pistol stand off. This isn't exactly true if both
: shooters are of equal skill and one has a pistol and one an assault rifle,
: my money is on the AR. If they both take one shot at each other then the
: person with the rifle has a greater level of accuracy over their own skill
: and therefore is more likley to hit their target, if you mean they AR
: weilder misses first time then they are still far more likley to hit the
: other person as their rifle spews out bullets.

Ever heard of caseless rounds? They have very little recoil and the mags can hold twice the amount of bullets than standard day munitions. If ya dont believe me then look up a gun on the net called HK G11 or the HK-Acr.
