My opinion is that Humans are decendants of the Forerunner genome, not actual Forerunners, as it was mentioned they all died out. (Except perhaps those on a planet called Earth, which, if it is or contains the Ark, would be spared the Halo's destructive blast.) There may be a direct link to some Humans and the Forerunners....we know that time travel is a part of the Halo universe since the Chief, Johnson and others on the Gettysburg arrived from Slipspace about three weeks before the Fall of Reach and the events of Halo. There's the line by 343 Guilty Spark to the 'reclaimer' Master Chief about events 100,000 years ago at Halo's last activation: 343GS: "Last time, you asked me...If it were my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer is not changed." Does this mean at some time in the future, Spartan 117 will be sent back in time 100,000 years and actually be the one to trigger the Halos? Something to ponder........... | |
