Q&A

In Response To: Re: Here's a better one. (Jillybean)

With such a large cell structure, how do sensory signals, and nutrients reach other areas of the cell quickly and effectively?
Human nerve cells overcome this by growing thin, but long. Maintaining a high Surface Area to Volume ratio.

As to the Hyperchondria, these would make sense in some ways. The Flood have a hyperadaptability to them, and Hyperchondria can help explain that. However, we have yet to see Flood survive in a different atmosphere than basic Oxygen/Nitrogen. (We do know they change the atmosphere. But to what? Spores, or are the elements actually replaced?)

With only three areas where nutrients can be absorbed, it seems like this makes it even harder for the Flood Cell to even GET food. Let alone store it in a large vacuole. Does the membrane have molecular pumps other than the three 'mouths'? If it does, how do they not lessen the effectiveness of the tough cell membrane? (or perhaps Cell Wall)
