There are potentially an extremely large number of stable locations, but the point of putting it somewhere that's absolutely stable is so that it won't have to correct itself--or, at least, to make the problem of correcting itself over a thousand centuries much simpler. However, if it can move to wherever it wants, it can correct itself to stay where you put it. Why bother placing it at a Lagrange point? Note that I'm not saying no Halo can move; the two we've encountered are so dissimilar that I'm not willing to say that anything about 04 implies anything about the rest of the installations, or vice versa. |
