In Response To: Also (Arashi90) : I would also like to point out one more thing. : When 343 Shows a list of the Halos at the END of Halo 2 - am I the only one
: If so, there's 8 Halos originally.. : 6 on Tablet #5 and 2 missing from that No, remember that little piece of red text that was on one of the Halos at the end? Looks to me like it has been taken out of commision. Also remember that 343 Guilty Spark said "Collectively the 7-*gets cut off by Tartarus" Sounds like there are only 7 rings to begin with. I have another observation. In the level "Sacred Icon" notice the fairy sentinels floating around in the beginning. Well I stopped to watch them do their work. It seems to me that the Halo rings can repair themselves. Meaning if we give it enough time, even Installation 04 can come back. It's not that far fetched considering what we know about the Forerunners (large rings of destruction, super smart AI, crystals that munipulate the fabric of space-time, etc). As for the Halos moving. I doubt it. Here's why. On Sigma Octanus IV there were coordinates for Halo 04. Why would coordinates be needed if the thing moves around? Wouldn't that be kinda pointless. You would put a rock somewhere, someone finds it, discovers that it is a map, flies out there, and nothing because the bloody thing moved. Now I just looked back at the beacon that 343 GS was talking about. It seems to me that the Halos are different sizes. And generally with most cases bigger gun = bigger explosion. That's not always the case, but I do believe that the Halos probably have larger/ smaller blast radi in order to make up for the smaller ones in case they fail. Besides 343 did say "This galaxy will be quite devoid of life." Sounds to me like that the ENTIRE galaxy will be wiped out of all life, not just a significantly populated area. After all as long as there is food for the Flood, they live. Well that's my minor thoughts for now. |
