In Response To: Theory: Delta Halo is near Earth (replay) A quick thought on the arrangement of Halos. Perhaps the Forerunner did not have to cover the entire galaxy in a uniform fashion, even if they couldn't amplify the death signal. For the forerunner to even consider placing halos in uniform fashion would mean that they would know of life that stretches through all 7 Halo-radii. They could have simply not known of other life in the galaxy, or my personal guess, they knew where the hot spots of life were. Logically, they'd place more halos at the high concentrations of sentient life (in this case, Earth at one other unknown point - see 343's map) and a few in the outer reaches to hit the remaining known planets and colonies. On the other hand, two halos in relative proximity may have been a security measure. Perhaps the forerunner were not as uniform in their decision to die as 343 suggests. Afterall, 343 would no doubt be biased on this issue. |
