In Response To: Re: Spec Thoughts Part I: The Crisis of the Sanghe (Peptuck)
: I actually forgot to reply to this post back when you first made it, so I'm
: gonna go ahead and reply. And keep in mind, with both this and your
: discussion of the Flood, you've made an instant fan. XD
: AMEN REVEREND!
: Agreed there. The thing that drew me to Halo was the storyline. Beyond a
: doubt an excellently crafted and beautiful thing. Square, eat your heart
: out, Bungie's got you OWNED.
: miranda Keyes. XD Ahem.
: Yeah, when I saw this, it was a big question for me. How would the other
: Elites (I use the human name more for speed than Sangheili) react to this
: allianc. The fact that the other Elites don't protest it was interesting,
: though that could have been because Johnson was driving a bigass Scarab.
: This was something I hadn't thought of. It would be interesting to see this
: in action. To a degree, the Elites do look down on the humans, but, as is
: shown at the beginning of The flood, this may partially be due to the
: phrophets' decrees and not their own views. After all, those Elites who
: have seen the humans in action understand that they are worthy of some
: respect, and judging by the conversation in Conversations from the
: Universe, the humans should have, by all rights, been offered entry into
: the Covenant by now.
: This may or may not be a sizable force, too. There are a lot of Elites on the
: surface, probably ejected from High Charity during the revolution.
: If not simply outright leaving Halo 05, which I suspect will be done once
: "Half-Jaw" (I love that name) manages to retake the carrier he
: states he intends to capture right after you arrive at the Scarab.
: Agreed. This will probably be pretty quick, as the military was alreadys
: erving under the Council's authority beforehand, so Half-Jaw and the
: Arbiter will likely be beneath or perhaps serving alongside the new
: council.
: Damn straight. I don't think these will be too difficult, as, agan, the
: Elites respect humans, and the fact that the Arbiter himself is fighting
: alongside humans and thus was able to cast aside his differences in the
: face of battling common foes, should be enough to convince the other
: Elites to respect the alliance.
: This is especially important, as without the help of Miranda and Johnson, I
: doubt that the Elites would be able to form a friendly liason with
: humanity in general and be able to help them perhaps fight off Truth and
: his minions.
: Again, it would be easy enough with that carrier, but I agree, what to do
: with the humans? Assuming they do manage to convince everyone to work
: together.
: I agree that Half-jaw is probably going to play a somewhat important role in
: the future, perhaps being the Arbiter's equivilant to Master Chief's
: Sergeant Johnson.
: This is another big thing I was thinking could be touched on in the future:
: What is the Covenant home front like? I wonder....do they even have a home
: front? XD We've got a great idea of the military and a lot of the
: religious sides of the Covenant, but hwat of civilian life for the various
: races? Is there even a civilian life for some like Jackals, Hunters, or
: Elites?
: I'm certain this is going to cause a shitstorm among the Elites, at least,
: and likely the Grunts as well. The Hunters may not be thrown into disarray
: as terribly as the others will be, and could perhaps be a stable
: "lifeline" for the other races.
: Very important questions. Bungie: LISTEN, DAMMIT. XD
: Very good points. Add into this the fact that it was largely the Prophets who
: wanted humanity eliminated in the first place, a race which is now held in
: very low esteem by the Elites, and, well, the Elites are going to be
: rather confused and may start getting headaches. XD
: That's probably exactly what's going through the Elites' minds. XD I suspect
: that they do hold MC in some form of contempt, but in a great deal of
: respect as well, considering he has "outfought entire legions."
: And again, humans have earned a degree of respect from Elites, who are a
: largely warrior culture, which is no small thing.
: A lot of the motivation for disliking humans, being the Prophets and their
: religion, is also in doubt, which in turn means that humans could end up
: in a state of limbo in the Elites' minds.
: I think that, given the general degree of respect the Elites do show humans,
: and how, by and large, their race is of a warrior culture, that once the
: Elite council members do decide that the humans are worthy, they will, as
: a whole, aknowledge this. As for the Grunts, well, they'd be just as happy
: to not fight the humans, and the Hunters wouldn't really care one way or
: the other as long as they have something to kill.
: Very true. I mean, its like Johnson says. "You don't like me and I sure
: as hell don't like you." If anything else, its going to be harder to
: convince humanity to accept the Elites than vice versa.
: Very good point and idea there. I wouldn't be surprised if the Halo storyline
: ended like this, either. Or perhaps one of them falls right before the
: final battle, and the other pauses to take the other's weapon before
: charging into the final confrontation, or something.
: I love the thought you've put into this. Glad to see someone with just as
: much love for the storyline as me here.
Just one thing, The Hunters might as well stay with the Elites and humans, because it said in the guidebook they aren't very loyal to the prophets and hate the Brutes. Plus fighting Brutes has become like their sport(as displayed in the last level)and the Hunters respect the Elites because the Elites have a brave, warrioir's spirit that the Hunters saw and recognized. So Elites have basically have no reason to fear their unity falling apart.
