I think we have to be careful not to lean toward extremes, on either side of the opinion 'aisle'. I had this post written out a good while before I hit the submit button, and I came close to just clicking 'close' on my browser because I didn't want to become the poster boy for the 'Halo 2 haters' just because I didn't think the game was up to par with the first one. I, for one, did not expect a perfect, end-all-be-all game. Not at all. What I did expect was more of the same yummy goodness that addicted me to Halo 1. That, and only that, is all I expected. As I stated in a little review I wrote (I think) on November 10, if you match Halo 2 against anything on the market, it rules all. The game is fantastic- really. It did throw me a few curveballs though, and my immediate reaction to them is not positive. No more, no less. If I run a successful game company, produce a killer game, and then release a sequel to that game, I absolutely expect folks to judge the sequel against the first one! I mean, come on folks. lol. : However, people have obviously the right to their own opinion, I just happen
Bungie rocks, and they do deserve congrats on a game well done. However, I believe true fans would be doing a disservice to them if they kept honest opinions of the game (positive and not so positive) to themselves. I've read posts on a couple of forums that seemed to say, "If you don't think Halo 2 is perfect, then get the f&%# out!" If I were a game developer, I would want to stay as far away from that kind of person as the kind that says, "Halo 2 suxxorz 0MG I h4t3 iT!!one1!!!!!!" Bleh. I'm going to try to make this my last comment on this whole thing. Ducain out.
