The Spark is some 100,000 LOCAL years, whatever that means. Perhaps Guilty Sparks figures the Forerunner have gone through some changes since they were last Halo way. They might've been biotech wizards, or something else may've happened to them. Maybe it's been so long since he's seen a Forerunner, he's forgotten what they "looked" like. Or maybe he's in denial. If he was honest with himself, it'd be obvious that the humans weren't Forerunner. But he's not bring honest with himself because he wants to believe that his creators have returned so badly. Luke P.
