You know, this is a pretty interesting and original theory. It would certainly answer the question..."where did the Forerunner go?" And also fits into the DNA activation, Spartans' undescribable familiarity with controls, and others.

A couple of questions that spring to mind:

1. How did all of the Halos travel backwards in time? Further, how did all of the Forerunner installations (on Reach, for example) travel back in time? It seems slightly plausible that you could send your special-made, superfly research installations backwards, but how would you send all the technology (installations, cites, etc) on all of the different worlds back?

2. IF you can explain how, then WHY did they? Since everything must follow logical order to be believeable, what purpose would it serve to send all technology back in time? As a warning?

Still, it is an interesting idea.
