In Response To: The Theory of Everything (for Halo, at least) (yakaman)

Actually, has anyone thought that maybe the Forerunners were not the human's past but instead their future? Several things in the story already seems to point towards that possibility.

1: Cortana feels that the Core program of the Cov AI seems very familiar and similar to her own when she decompiled it.
1a: Cov are not allowed to modify and improve Forerunner technology, therefore, the cov AI's core programming must have not been modified since the Cov found it, merely adapted it to their own use. Core programming of the Cov AI is genuine.
1b: Cov AI is extremely fractured and buggy, and according to cortana, was the result of copying smart AIs. Since Cov only found one AI from the forerunners, it would be logical that they copied many copies of the same AI to give to each of their FlagShips. (other Cov ships less than a flagship do not have AIs)
1c: Earth AI technology was not stolen from anyone, it was hand designed in association with Halsey - it was in another word, original, so that could only mean The forerunner AI which used by the cov comes from humans. And that put humans in the past of the Forerunner and the Forerunner are infact, human's decendants.

2: Forerunner installation found under Reach seems to be "activated" by human blood.

3: Cov did not seem to have Glassed Earth in Halo 2, which would mean EArth is of some importance to them, maybe the largest forerunner installation they can find?

4: 343 Guilty Spark always seems to know about humans and have meet the Chief or Spartans. It could be that in the future, the Spartan project or at least their armor was far more widespread than the present. And the Halo installation could built in the future, or by future humans that traveled back in time.

5: The crystal which Halsey found on Reach not only had the effect of bending gravity or dimensions, but also BENDING time* Which could very well make the time-traveling theory probable.
