It also mentioned that : other Halos would fire in succession leaving the entire galaxy devoid of : life. As somebody stated above, Bungie's backstory for the development of : man is the same as how it actually happened in the real world, and as : somebody else pointed out there is no evidence of a mass extinction : 100,000 years ago. So, we must therefore conclude that because a halo did : fire, several halos would fire in succession to wipe out life in their : resident galaxy and Earth has no evidence of such an extinction, HALO : INSTALLATION 04 DID NOT FIRE. Some other Halo in some other galaxy fired : 100,000 years ago wiping it out; 343 was aware of it, perhaps even present : in some fashion or other; The Forerunner's disappearance remains a mystery : and lastly; both human and Covenant races remained unaffected by Halo to : live to the timeframe the story exists in. Your right. Also if it's a widely accepted theory that human are forerunner, I must have missed something. Unless bungie pulls a stunt done in sci-fi before similar to "Humans are an evolved form of some race that left part of itself on earth but died out leaving only remnant that evolved into humans". That's the only plausable way in the time frame. Or if all sentients are derived from forerunner for some reason, this would explain the races of bipedal erect aliens.
