Not really, that was pretty good and quite probable. I liked it anyway. :P

One thing that nags me there is why then are the Covenant singling us out to destroy? People have come up with reasons why the Prophets would want to if we were descended from the Forerunners blah blah blah but it still strikes me why Humanity needs destroyed, the other races conquored. Perhaps just because of our empire, but the Prophets could just tell the others we are the amazing beings descended from the Forerunners to be revered, and i see no reason why the other races would not follow - we are, afterall, suprerior to the Covies in ways.

Also, it seems odd that if WE are the descendants of the Forerunner, then why are we less advanced? Presumably Covie homeworlds have Forerunner relics on hem, but Earth does not (unless we do, and have misinterpreted the pyramids, colusseum, etc.).

Apart from that (which can all probably be explained) i thought it was all very good. Well done :)
