In Response To: Number of halos in the Milkey Way Galexy (Melvin)

I should know that it was discussed before because I gave the worked out answer.

You only need 4 Halo installtions in order to wipe the galaxy clean of sentient life. With and effective radius of 25,000 ly, that means a sphere 50,000 ly across. The milky Way Galaxy is aproximately 100,000 ly across. If the Halo's are placed propperly you only need four. The fields would overlap slightly in the Galactic Core.

If five Halo's were used it would minimize the area in the outer rim of the Galaxy that might otherwise escape the purge.
