Sure- first off lemme tell you that sometimes it doesn't work for me either. The MC model was actually already unwrapped- I got it from a guy in the gearbox forums- http://thespiritforge.tripod.com/ When you apply the texture, you have to make it a Standard material, NOT a Multi-Material. That means that I had to detach the faceplate from the MC model as a separate object, then uv map the orangey glass texture.
The bump map level is controlled with Xzzy's exporter rollout, as well as the specular level- it's sorta subtle- you might need to crank up the light to get a good specular effect. Really if you have a problem, it means that some models are either intersecting, or you accidentally made a multi-material instead of a standard. Hope this helps!
