Or the "Apostles" may be the Forerunner themselves, maybe? Technically, the 12 Apostles as mentioned by Christ were "Forerunners" of the Christian community as we know of it today.
What I'm trying not to think of is that of those 12 Apostles, there was Judas Iscariot...
