I've been reading the Gearbox forums for months now, and it is NOT their pattern to delete posts that disagree with them; my best guess is either 1) someone spammed the thread with nasty stuff, or 2) someone spammed the FORUM with nasty stuff. (Hellface said recently that when he bans someone, he deletes everything they've contributed, even when this means losing otherwise valuable threads.)

In any case, Randy Pitchford chimed in last night with a point by point answer. He even offered the idea of releasing the next patch as a 'public beta', to get a wider cross-section of feedback before the official release.

They're TRYING to make us happy. I really believe that. I think this patch was something of a step backwards (anything that causes a significant number of people to crash on a regular basis is a step backwards, no matter HOW many new features are added)... but I think that'll get fixed pretty quickly.

Or at least I hope it will. :)
