In Response To: Re: Penny Arcade Game Day Early Report (Wado SG) : I was there too. I was the guy with the kid and stayed mostly on Halo PC. Cool! You two were kicking some ass at Halo PC. If I'd known that was you, I'd have offered to buy you and your kid a blizzard over at the DQ, or something. I was there, as well (obviously), along with Kitsu. I was the one wearing the white Bungie "Don't Make Us Kick Your ASS" t-shirt, and Kitsu was the guy with the maroon beret. As a suppliment to the original report, SketchFactor, the Cananimators, and someone else who I could not recognize all took on four random challengers in a Team Slayer game in the Halo PC beta. Bungie lost, but it was close... I stood and watched Sketch over his shoulder (I hope I didn't bother him by doing that...). One of the Cananimators did the second demo. His presentation had some, er, problems (no sound at first), but was actually better, I thought. I'd seen the "scripted" playthrough, and the Cananimator... strayed from it a little, at times, revealing some more of the demo and bringing a few laughs to those present. On a personal note, my Amateur team, "Warthog Overdose" took something somewhere between 8th and 5th place in the tournament. I loved Halo PC; it looked and played a thousand times better than what I saw in the screenshots and what I read in the descriptions. Overall, the whole event was spectacular. I'd like to thank the Bungie, Lanwerx, and the Penny Arcade guys for giving those present the thrills that they did, through Halo PC, the live demo, and the tournaments... not to mention the simple pleasure of their presence. This has been one of the best days of my life, I think. :) ~Socrates |
