I feel like a Halo : philosopher : ) : And now for my next trick... : Earlier today I posted about the "Class 2 Armor Thing." After : reading a couple of reply posts, it hit me. Like a flood tentacle, right : in the face. THAT ARMOR! WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF MASTER CHIEFS ARMOR?? : Try and bear with me, I feel a rant coming on. Everybody has been talking : about how guilty spark recognizes the armor, the armor was taken from : forerunner technology, the armor was copied from covenant technology, etc. : But we're missing something HUGE here. : The covenant possess nothing which they have not stolen. To quote the prophet : from Halo: The Flood : Prophet, to an Elite, talking about Mjolnir armor: The technology underlying : the armor you wear came straight from the forerunners. To say that it is : in any way inferior verges on sacrilege. : Think about it. The covenant are religious zealots, but they don't worship : the forerunners themselves, its the TECHNOLOGY they are after. The : Covenant have created an entire religion based on pillaging and making use : of this technology. EVERYTHING they use, from the Covenant Battlecruiser : to plasma rifles to a grunt rebreather mask, is directly from the : forerunners. Meanwhile, the humans make some decent reactive body armor : and reverse engineer a shield system. Our equipment is barely on par with : a Gold Elite. WHY THE HELL would guilty spark pick out Master Chief as : forerunner when he's got an entire Forerunner tech Armada flying rings : around his giant ring!? : This time I don't have answers. : Ok, still with me? Check this out. We know the forerunners built Halo. So, : Halo is forerunner. "The Installation" was designed to contain : and study the flood. Was 343GS talking about the entire ring or just the : library? Probably the entire ring, but I'm not sure. What happened to the : forerunner? As far as I can tell, 343 does not make one single specific : mention to any race by name, especially not the forerunners. The closest : he comes is saying that "I'm grateful to see that some of them : survived to reproduce." But who is he talking about? Forerunner? : Flood? Humans? Oh man. : What if Guilty Spark doesn't serve the Forerunner!? : The covenant are 100% Forerunner tech. If Guilty was a forerunner creation, : don't you think he would be a lot more familiar with them instead of us : pesky humans? WHY was the decision made to keep flood for study? WHAT : happened to the forerunner? WHY are the covenant so intent on wiping out : humanity? WHAT did Cortana find out while she was in the Core?? : I feel like the answers to these questions are right in front of me, but I : can't figure this out. This is some scary 'ish. : SUBNOTE: Master Chief's familiarity with Halo's controls has really been : bugging me. Whether humanity is descendant from the Forerunner or not, : knnowing which buttons to press, to turn on a bridge, would NOT be : imprinted within your psyche or your DNA. The only explanation I can think : of is that there is some kind of psychic link. Like, you look at a control : panel, and the meaning is somehow beamed into your head, like it was : something you already knew, but you can't explain why. Seem plausible? ok they halo and human thing... look at halos little metal box thing next look at the poas hull, they look human dont they and buildins look like there human orign and the covent dont look like they would makie a ring like that.id be puple or sum color like that
