In Response To: Re: Cyborg marines (Ben Schodek) I fully acknowledge that cyborgs could be just like a regular person and probably are. However: 1) Cyborgs and marines in marathon are most definatly not interchangeable. In fact only a few cyborgs are operational and those are strictly controlled. In marathon your persona is in Disguise as a Marine. There are supposed to be no cyborgs aboard the marathon. 2) People are really wierd when you get them in big groups, especialy about things they are afraid of. If they know that cyborgs totaly destroyed the two asteroid civilizations then they may be fearful of what will happen if many cyborgs are activated again, and they may also question whether a cyborg is fit to command since they have shown a remarkable lack of compasion in the past (please note: compasion is not neccesarily a good thing for a commander to have but it helps on the home-front, nobody likes a butcher) BTW humans also tend to discriminate against people or things they don't understand, I would propose that many people don't understand cyborgs 3) This may all be bunk since the marathon was commisioned by the UESC and the Pillar of Autumn is a SolCore ship.
